Rare Vintage 1960s | Medium | Pierre Balmain numbered Haute Couture red and blue silk dress and jacket

Nearly every seam and detail has been painstakingly sewn by hand on this 1960s Pierre Balmain numbered Haute Couture ensemble.

Using primary blue and red with rust and accents of white + black, the windowpane patterned Dupioni silk has been carefully constructed for a flawless finish. The bodice of the dress is cut of the finest silk jersey with a flattering high neckline, lightly puffed shoulders and blouson sleeves which fastens at the cuff with a metal snap and two fabric covered buttons. The slightly cropped a-line cut jacket fastens only at the neck with a snap button and features faux pockets at either side.

The dress + jacket are both lined with sumptuous silk charmeuse, for the most comfortable feel with silk organza lining the skirt.
A matching belt which lines up with the pattern of the skirt finishes the look.
Fastening with a series of zippers and snaps, this remarkable designer ensemble boasts all of the signature finishes of a high-end couture garment.
