👑 Hanae Mori was a proficient Japanese fashion designer, and in 1977 was the first Asian person to be recognized as an official haute couture designer by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture guild in Paris. Mori designed and showed clothes worldwide and was known for blending eastern and western styles.
From the 1980's, this Hanae Mori ensemble offers jewel tone drama with brightly coloured florals and paisley against a dark ground. The blouse is made of a sumptuous silk with batwing sleeves and fabric covered buttons down the back. The wool challis skirt is full, and features hip pockets with an optional sash belt - wear it around your neck, in your hair or attached to your handbag.
Add a chunky leather belt to the waist instead - it’s all about styling to really update a look like this for everyday wear.
