🥀 Absolutely devastating 1940's silk charmeuse Holoku style gown by designer Elsie Krassas! The Holoku is a traditional Hawaiian dress dating back to the 1820's. Originally worn for everyday wear, the style has changed over time and, is now considered a formal dress with its slim fit and long train. This rare beauty features a pretty rose jacquard weave and a flowing train with ruffled hemline. The bodice is boned at either side, with darts at centre bust, princess seaming through the waist and a removable halter strap. The fabric is cut on the bias which offers a perfect and comfortable fit.
Hand laundered and ready to wear, the gown is in excellent overall condition, with two lighter spots below each breast.
This is not overly apparent when worn - see last photo.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for. They will likely have general wear and blemishes. We try our best to note any major wear or damages on each garment - although we may sometimes overlook things - which we do apologize for.
Please do not expect all vintage garments to come perfect, unless "MINT CONDITION" has been stated in the description.

Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. Most vintage garments do not have the stretch or give of modern fabrics. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure (twice) a similar garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed.


We cannot offer refunds for fit issues, variances in monitor colors, or buyer’s remorse since these things are out of our control.
